Our Philoshophy

ΜΠΛΑΝΚ! Multiactive Studio - Gallery is BOTH an alternative ART space placed in Athens & Syros, AND a Sustainable Streetwear Brand that aims to add a holistic perspective to what it appears to be "Art and Fashion" nowadays.

We create art with love and care, but mostly we create art with awareness to how our actions can either cause negative or positive impact on society or our environment. And as insignificant as it may seem on your path, clothing has a significant impact in the grand scheme of things, too. From the extraction of materials to the production and distribution, various touchpoints have their impact. For us, to be a Sustainable Streetwear Brand means to pay attention to the entire lifecycle of clothing items. So, rather than using synthetic materials, we choose Natural Fibers and Recycled Fabrics, Premium Organic Cotton, Recycled Polyester and deadstock for new pieces and accessories to prevent waste. We patronize Fair Trade Suppliers, Ethical Working Conditions and Zero or low Waste Packaging. In our textile printery we only use Ecological, non harmfull Water Based Inks and the handpulled silkscreen technique.

For our textiles we currently have 2 brands (Continental Clothing & Stanley / Stella) which carry Wrap and Fairware Certifications:

🌿 GOTS Certification

GOTS certification, or Global Organic Textile Standards, is the world's leading textile processing standard when it comes to organic fibres. It defines high-level environmental criteria along the entire organic textiles supply chain and requires compliance with social criteria. GOTS certification also covers the whole textile process include fair labour practices (no child labour) and the assurance that there is no known toxic substances used as part of the manufacturing process and therefore safe for humans.

🌿 OEKO-TEX - Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX

The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is a worldwide consistent, independent testing and certification system for raw, semi-finished, and finished textile products at all processing levels, as well as accessory materials used. It refers to organic and non organic textiles proving that they are free from more than 100 substances known to be harmful to human health.

🌿 PETA-APPROVED VEGAN

Sometimes clothing that is free of obvious animal materials such as wool, leather or fur also contains hidden animal ingredients, especially accessories like buttons, adhesives or dyes. PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) claims to be the largest animal rights organization in the world, committed to the abolition of mass animal husbandry, fur farming and animal testing. Their label, PETA-Approved Vegan, uniquely identifies garments that are free of animal ingredients.

For us, having a holistic point of view in the "Art and Fashion" declaration means also that art is a part of our daily life and can come to fruition using the simpliest materials. From our Handmade Artifacts, Wood Creations and Paintings to Plant Propagation and Ceramic Pots, we do our best to eliminate our environmental footprint and create a safe space for everyone who wants to enter the "World of Art".

"We stand there alongside with the absurd, the shameless and the insult. We collect the desirous, the child’s play, the revolutionaries, the strange and the foreigner, the improbable and the beauty to believe in it every day again and again"
